Dangers of complacency
Think about some possibly negative thoughts or traditions in your daily life that you have become comfortable with, that maybe you should think about and question?
Could you stop just accepting that “life is what it is”? And start making it what it should be? Or stop believing that what you are told is worth repeating? And start only repeating what is worth repeating?
Or stop just accepting what happens in society, as facts of life that you cannot change, when you could change it, by changing you?
Could you become responsible enough to stand up on your powers and use factual thinking, while making more responsible decisions, about your life, than what you made yesterday.
Are you ready to positively change your life, starting with your productive involvement in your next decisions?
Could you live by the following; I know that life can be better through the power of my thinking, my decisions and my actions, as I am ready to work for my Comeback Power attitude and my positive productive personal recovery by understanding the importance of eliminating complacent attitude’s that I may harbor, as I will remain fully involved in every aspect of my new responsible recovery life, through every one of my nest decisions!
Think about the following and all the harm that it could cause; “You cannot teach an old dog new tricks”? Think about what this saying could say and how you think that some may use it as an excuse for complacency or laziness? How could this thinking cause harm? Or cheat one out of a new life experiences?
Maybe you cannot teach an old dog new tricks, but you are not a dog, you are a human with a learning mind and a next decision, so be careful with what you say to yourself, as you can learn new things, no matter how old you are, because no matter how long you have lived inside this complacency, or the bondages of addiction, you are still capable of change and it is never too soon, or too late, for that change.
You need to ask questions to gain knowledge and wisdom and to know that you are acting upon truth and not filling your mind with false “I can’t” thoughts, when you truly could if you would put a positive effort forth. Think about all the things that you supposedly cannot do for whatever reason or excuse. e.g. I can’t quit drinking, I have drank for so long, and so on.
These excuses died a long time ago, so if you are not going to quit drinking, be honest and say I do not know enough to quit, or if you have become buried under myths and do not know how to quit, just admit it, but stop the illogical garbage talk of you cannot, and quit acting like just because you have done wrong for so long, that you have to keep doing wrong, because that is wrong!
